Goodbye Fay!!!

Thank God Tropical Storm Fay is gone from South Florida, she is someone else's problem now. We didn't have any damage at all in my neighborshood, not even the power going out. So...hip hip hooray the rainy witch is gone!!

Tropical Storm Fay

Well folks, it looks like Tropical Storm Fay is on her way and should be in the Florida peninsula sometime tomorrow afternoon. The west coast is going to take the brunt of it. But I'm on the East Coast. We have 30-40% chance of getting actual tropical storm winds, so I'm really hoping that our power won't go out. But if it does, now you know why I may not be posting anything for a while.

More Fabulous Purses!!!

I've mentioned in previous posts that I like to be thrifty. One can get awesome deals if only one has patience and is on the lookout. I am a purse/handbag fan. I love them. This past Saturday JC Penney had a huge sale, but the best prices were from 7 AM to 1 PM. Larry also happened to have a couple of coupons sent to him by a credit card company. So, after checking with me about size, colors and style, he got up early on Saturday and showed up at my house yesterday afternoon with the following two designer purses that he got for a steal!

This is an awesome laptop carrier for the laptop that I "might" receive for my upcoming birthday:

and here is my favorite of the two purses (although I love both of them:

I love purses and jewelry. I can never have enough of those! The second handbag is made by Genna De Rossi. If you like quality handbags that are comfortable, trendy and of good quality, this is your brand. You can can find them at JC Penney and they are usually on some sort of sale. I became a Genna De Rossi Fan a couple of years ago when my boyfriend got my two of her bag, one in pink and one of lavender. All of my Genna De Rossi bags are roomy and comfortable. They come in a huge assortment of colors and, even thought they're designer quality, they are not the usual designer prices. You can can find her bags within the $20-$80 US price range. I strongly recommend them.

Bittersweet Visit From Good Friends

Last Thursday we had the bittersweet visit of some friends who were moving away on Saturday and were coming ot say goodbye. Nora and her mom have been fixtures in my life since I was a kid, along with her brother and her late dad. Nora and her mom decided to move to a town that is two or three hours away and I'm going to miss knowing that they're nearby. Here are photos of their visit on Thursday. Her kids are so cute! I couldn't help myself taking pictures of them. Derrick is camera shy. He would turn away and hide whenever he saw me with the camera. Brianna, on the other hand, is a ham. She was all smiles for the camera.

5 Words At A Time

This story is being written by two ladies, KittyJo and myself. We will be adding to it 5 words at a time whenever we happen to see that the other person has added their 5 words. To find if she has posted her 5 yet, go to http://fromgodsperspective.blogspot.com/ . To separate who wrote what, I decided to italicize my part.

The light was on, but when she reached for the soup, the power went out."Drat it all!" She exclaimed, "Did I pay that bill?"At that moment she heard a mouse's little feet running quickly inside the wall by her legs and she screamed. "Josephine!!"A shrill voice came from where the mouse ran. It wasn't that she thought that the mouse was talking... but she screamed again anyways and the little mouse fainted. Aunt Maggie came in from outside doing the pee-pee dance. "Josephine, why are you screaming?"
"Nice pee-pee dance, aunt Maggie!"
"Thanks" she said, as she took her shoes off and "Thanks" she said, as she took her shoes off and jetted for the bathroom. But she tripped and fell on a tiny mouse who fainted and her purse landed in Josephine's bowl of soup."What on Earth was that soft thing that I just tripped over?" Yelped aunt Maggie while picking herself up off the now squashed little mouse and disappeared behind the bathroom door. Josephine removed Aunt Maggie's purse from her soup and wiped her spoon with her dress.
"The power suddenly went out." Josephine spoke while looking at a tiny person's shadow on the window sill, overlooking a
